Innovation Workshops: I believe that the most critical roadblocks to innovation are in clearly identifying the challenges and the desired outcomes. I facilitate a process by which we make these challenges and outcomes visible, comprehensible and shareable. Using techniques from the realm of design thinking, visual thinking, scenario building, psychology and kindergarten, we work to solve the problems in ways that brings significant value back to the organization. This service is one part visualization, one part facilitation and six parts collaboration.
Engagement Strategies: As more and more
people connect in real-time using digital tools,
organizations have to be able to respond and participate cohesively
across products, departments and channels. Organizations must rethink
the boundaries and silos between the different business units. I work
with your team to develop or evolve the strategy for creating
exceptional customer moments, leveraging emerging technologies and
building stronger relationships across stakeholders.
Experience Design (UX):
A focus on the human elements of a process, system, service or event
with the intent of creating a superior experience for all parties. This
requires a team effort where we begin by defining what a successful
experience is and then work to provide the tools to sell, build and
manage this experience. Collaborative design with internal and
external audiences is a critical component of this offering.
Current Engagements:
Innovation Consulting and UX for Blooming Betty - There are more women than men in the world. Women in many segments are better educated than men. And yet there is a dearth of women in key positions in the workforce. Blooming Betty is a new venture and the founder, Sue Van Der Hout, has developed a wonderful program and toolkit for helping women realize balance and potential in their lives. Sean is working to translate these tools into an online network while also leading a team to create the Intellectual Property to power and drive this experience.
Experience Design for a new Social Giving site - A wonderful group of people are launching a new social giving venture. It's still hush-hush, but it's a great crew with an innovative idea that enables people to more actively participate and support causes in the world. Sean is filling the role of Experience Designer and is currently working on prototypes for what this site might be like in the very near future.
Digital Innovation for Sick Kids Foundation - Sean is currently working with The 9th to fast track and facilitate the experience design for a new national brand launch that has to result in a comprehensive digital strategy for Sick Kids Foundation.
Digital Engagement Consulting - TVO engaged one of the leaders for collaborative community engagement in Toronto, Remarkk Consulting to develop a series of community-led "un-conference" events that would be tied to their flagship show, The Agenda. Sean was part of the team brought on board by Remarkk to help define the digital engagement elements to better support these events (pre, during and post).
Mentor for Association of Canadian Publishers - Sean provides full day mentoring sessions for Canadian Publishers looking to expand, develop or overhaul their online marketing efforts.
